Her Instagram account, @mayaforbeast, grew around the 365-day challenge, with her profile describing the project simply as an attempt to meet MrBeast. By the final stretch, her posts were attracting significant attention and thousands of comments from people following the countdown.

Then MrBeast noticed

The closer Maya got to Day 365, the more the possibility of actually meeting MrBeast started to feel real. In September, she posted that MrBeast had asked for her email and WhatsApp details, telling her followers that the dream could finally happen. A few days later, she was still documenting the wait, making it clear that meeting him was still the goal.

Then the 365-day challenge reached its final chapter. Maya met MrBeast, turning a year of posts, attempts and anticipation into an actual meeting. The moment came with another unexpected development: MrBeast gave her $10,000 to support her community work, according to a report published on October 11.

What the 365 days left behind

The money gives Maya an opportunity to continue the work she had already been documenting, but it also changes the way the entire challenge can be looked at. If the goal had only been to meet a celebrity, the story could have ended the moment they finally stood in the same room.
