Sai Bharath’s Journey From NIT Warangal to Amazon

Sai Bharath graduated from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, in 2023 with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering.

Three years later, his professional profile shows him working as a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon in Hyderabad, where he is associated with Amazon Pay.

Bharath was born without his left hand. His recent career progression has drawn attention online, particularly after his move into the SDE-II role at Amazon.

The reported annual compensation of more than ₹50 lakh has also become part of the discussion around his career. However, that figure has not been publicly confirmed by Amazon or Bharath himself, so it is more accurate to describe it as a reported compensation figure rather than a verified salary.

Building his skills while at NIT Warangal

Bharath's time at NIT Warangal was not limited to his academic work.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he served as secretary of the Computer Science and Engineering Students' Association from 2020 to 2023. He was also involved in activities related to programming and computer science.

His professional experience began taking shape before graduation through internships.

In 2022, he joined Amazon as a software development engineering intern in Chennai. During the internship, he worked on automating internal processes using JavaScript and Amazon Web Services tools.

He later worked as a backend developer intern at Adwaita Educare, gaining experience with AWS services and backend systems.

These experiences gave him exposure to the kind of software development work that would later become part of his full-time career.

His first job after college

After graduating from NIT Warangal, Bharath worked as a Software Engineer at Saras Analytics in Hyderabad.

His work there involved backend development, APIs, connectors and Java-based systems.

The role lasted for several months before he returned to Amazon as a full-time Software Development Engineer in January 2024.

His career progression since then has been relatively quick.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Bharath moved into the SDE-II position in October 2026, roughly two years and nine months after joining Amazon as an SDE.

Working on Amazon Pay

Bharath is currently based in Hyderabad and works with Amazon Pay.

His professional profile describes work related to developing Amazon Pay as a standalone application rather than simply as a feature within the Amazon Shopping app.

That places him on a product used for digital payments and financial services, while his own career has moved from internships and backend development into a more advanced software engineering position.

The ₹50 lakh figure needs context

Several reports have described Bharath as earning more than ₹50 lakh annually.

The figure appears to originate from a social media post that brought his career to wider attention. NDTV, Moneycontrol and other publications subsequently reported the claim.

There is no public confirmation from Amazon or Bharath establishing the exact amount of his compensation.

It is also important to distinguish annual compensation from take-home salary. Compensation packages at technology companies can include fixed pay, bonuses and stock-based components, so a reported annual package does not necessarily represent the amount an employee receives as monthly income.

For that reason, the ₹50 lakh-plus figure should be treated as a reported estimate rather than a confirmed salary.

More than the number

The salary figure may have been what initially attracted attention online, but Bharath's career progression provides a broader picture.

Within a few years of graduating, he moved through internships, backend engineering and an Amazon SDE role before reaching SDE-II.

His journey also sits alongside a significant personal detail. He was born without his left hand, yet his professional record has been built around computer science, software development and increasingly complex engineering work.

Rather than reducing his story to his disability or his compensation, the more concrete part of his journey is the path between the two: education at NIT Warangal, early internships, technical experience, a return to Amazon and a promotion into an SDE-II role.

For Bharath, the latest milestone is not the end of that journey. His LinkedIn profile now records his move into SDE-II at Amazon, where he continues working in software engineering and on Amazon Pay.
